Single sourcing is a procurement strategy where you buy a specific part or a category of components from a single supplier. The benefits include fewer vendor scorecards to manage, invoices to process, and shipments to receive. Critics say that buying items this way increases risk, but so does depending on multiple vendors who are susceptible to stockouts or quality issues. So, what’s really keeping you from single sourcing? Is there a link in your supply chain that’s stronger than you may know?

Single Sourcing All of Your Rubber Products

Elasto Proxy supplies all of the rubber and plastic products and materials that manufacturers need. Some customers think we only distribute rubber extrusions, but that’s not the case since we also fabricate finished custom gaskets and insulation. In addition, Elasto Proxy distributes rubber materials and can source all of the molded plastic and rubber components that you require. We also offer value-added services like kitting, custom packaging, and warehousing.

Are you still skeptical that you can get it all from a single source? Then consider how Elasto Proxy supplies more than just door and window seals to the heavy equipment industry. These products are fabricated from rubber extrusions, but Elasto Proxy also makes custom insulation by laminating together thermal and acoustic materials. We also source provide EMI shielding gaskets and supply parts that require plastic molding, rubber molding , or rubber-to-metal bonding. Keep reading to learn more or request a quote.

Silicone Connectors

Silicone connectors from Elasto Proxy are molded rubber products that connect the intake pipes and tubes in diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. These engine components resist high temperatures and provide strength and flexibility. The types of silicone connectors that we provide includes silicone elbows, silicone reducers, straight hoses, hump hoses, and wrapped hoses. To meet your single sourcing requirements, our silicone connectors can include fabric, wire, or liner materials.

Vibration Mounts

Vibration mounts or isolation mounts prevent the transmission of noise, shock, and vibration. They also feature rubber-to-metal bonding and attach with a threaded metal fastener. The rubber in an anti-vibration mount acts as a spring and absorbs energy that can damage mechanical systems. Isolation mounts come in many different sizes and shapes, including mounting pads. Metal threads are available in both U.S. and metric sizes to meet your single sourcing requirements.

Rubber Grommets

Grommets are molded rubber products through which wires or cables are fed. They are installed in holes within panels and made of elastomers such as EPDM, neoprene, nitrile, or silicone. Rubber grommets are usually shaped like rings or eyelets, but they can also be flanged, collared, or horseshoe-shaped. Dimensional specifications vary with grommet style, but usually include inside diameter (ID), outside diameter (OD), groove width, groove diameter, and overall thickness.

Rubber Hose Clamps

Elasto Proxy also supplies rubber hose clamps for joining pipes such as the ones used in heavy equipment engines. These molded rubber products have recessed nut-and-bolt holes so that there’s no exposed metal after assembly. Rubber hose clamps that are molded from the right elastomers and in the right durometers can also provide cushioning to help protect the joint from movement. That’s especially important in big diesel engines with high levels of vibration.

EMI Shielding Gaskets

EMI shielding gaskets are made of silicones that are filled with metal or metal-coated particles. The elastomer provides environmental resistance and can withstand a wide range of temperatures. The fill material is electrically conductive and provides shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI), a growing problem because of the proliferation of sensors. With the rise of electric, hybrid, and autonomous vehicles, the need to shield enclosures against EMI keeps increasing.

Ask Elasto Proxy About Single Sourcing

These are just some of the heavy equipment parts we can provide in addition to door and window seals and thermal and acoustic insulation. So, isn’t it time to simply your purchasing? Single sourcing the procurement of rubber and plastic parts doesn’t have to introduce unnecessary risk either. Just order everything that you need from Elasto Proxy for the year ahead. We can store it all in our warehouses, where we can release it on demand or in response to your sales or production forecast.
