Elasto Proxy will attend Eurosatory 2024, the global event for defense and security, from June 17 to 21 in Paris, France. Serving with Distinction
Since 1989, Elasto Proxy has served the defense industry with distinction. Our first customer, Atlantic Defense Industries, was a defense contractor that built the boom hoist on a ten-ton truck. Since then, we’ve supplied military manufacturers with custom components such as door and window gaskets, thermal and acoustic insulation, vibration mounts, molded rubber and plastic parts, and anti-slip tape.
Solving Sealing Challenges
Along the way, we’ve solved tough sealing challenges. For example, when a military vehicle manufacturer needed to replace an over-compressed neoprene hatch seal, we supplied finished gaskets made of silicone sponge. We used our water jet equipment to cut lengths to size and bonded the ends together. We also applied pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape to help speed installation.
Defeating Heat and Noise
Elasto Proxy also supplies defense contractors with thermal, acoustic, and thermal-acoustic insulation for military vehicles. First, we laminate materials such as foams, foils, and facings together to build sandwich-like structures. Then, using our water jet equipment, we cut these composites to size with speed and precision. As with seals and gaskets, we can apply PSA tapes for easier installation.
Doors, Floors, Windows, Cabins, and Engine Bays
The sealing and insulation that Elasto Proxy provides includes solutions for doors, floors, windows, cabins, and engine bays. Examples include:
- Door gaskets for armored vehicles
- Window channels for ballistic glass
- Sound-absorbing floor matting and vinyl-faced acoustic insulation for cabins
- Anti-slip tape for military vehicle surfaces
- Low and high frequency acoustic insulation with an aluminum facing that reflects heat
- Thermal-acoustic insulation for temperatures up to 150° and loud engine sounds
In addition, Elasto Proxy supplies vibration mounts that absorb energy that can transmit noise and damage mechanical structures. The molded rubber and plastic parts that we offer include boots, bellows, grommets, and pedal covers – just to name a few. With our abrasive water jet cutting capabilities, we can also cut materials such as ballistic steel and Kevlar.
