Elasto Proxy provides silicone products to manufacturers in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, medical equipment, and transportation industries. We can supply you with silicone sheets, rolls, or extrusions that you fabricate yourself, or we can custom-fabricate silicone products from materials that we keep in stock or special-order.

Silicone materials come in commercial and specialty grades.

Silicone Distribution

As a silicone distributor, Elasto Proxy works with a large and trusted network of material manufacturers. Whether you need commercial grade or specialty silicones, we have the strategic sourcing that you need. Commercial-grade materials are fine for some applications, but Elasto Proxy can also provide you with specialized silicones that meet standards such as:

  • FDA
  • USP Class VI
  • UL 94 V0
  • Flame, smoke, and toxicity (FST)

Elasto Proxy can also store your silicone materials in our North American or European warehouses so that they’re ready for distribution – and won’t take up floor or shelf space in your facility.

Silicone Fabrication

As a silicone fabricator, Elasto Proxy uses water jet cutting to convert sheets, rolls, and extrusions into custom components. With water jet cutting, there’s no tooling to wait for or pay for. You’ll also like the fine, fast cuts and support for low to medium volumes. In addition to water jet cut parts, we can supply you with molded silicone components in high or low quantities.

There are other silicone fabricators, but part of what makes Elasto Proxy different is the added value we provide. For example, if you’re designing a silicone gasket, we can review your part tolerances and recommend a gasket tape. We also offer added-value services like parts kitting and custom packaging. Elasto Proxy even has an in-house lab where we can test performance properties.

Types of Silicone Products

Elasto Proxy supplies these and other types of silicone products.

  • Solid profiles
  • Sponge profiles
  • D-Shapes
  • Bulb trim
  • U-channels
  • Molded parts
  • Tubing

In addition, we offer EMI shielding gaskets and hose connectors that are made of silicone-based materials.

Solid Silicone Profiles

Silicone solid profiles are continuous lengths of silicone rubber that are extruded into specific shapes or cross-sections. They are made of high consistency rubber (HCR) or liquid silicone rubber (LSR) that’s been cured. Applications include oven door seals, high-pressure mechanical seals, and some enclosure seals.

Sponge Silicone Profiles

Silicone sponge profiles are also extruded, but they’re made of cellular materials with open or closed cells. Compared to solid silicones, sponge silicones are softer and more compressible. This allows them to conform to irregular surfaces with low compression force. Applications include air, dust, or moisture sealing, especially in sanitary enclosures.

Silicone D-Shapes

Silicone D-shapes are extruded silicone profiles with a D-shaped cross-section. They have a rounded top, a flat bottom, and can be supplied with a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape for peel-and-stick installation. Applications include cleanroom door seals, weather seals for LED or outdoor enclosures, and gaskets for enclosures that must meet ingress protection (IP) standards.

Silicone Bulb Trim

Silicone bulb trim is used with doors, hatches, and enclosures that have rounded corners. These silicone products feature a bulb section for sealing and a retainer or trim that presses onto a flange. Often, the two sections have different durometers to optimize sealing and compression. The bulb can also be made of silicone sponge while the retainer is made of solid silicone.

Silicone U-Channels

Silicone U-channels are extruded silicone profiles that are shaped like the letter U and have a channel or groove that is pressed onto an edge. When compressed, these silicone products form an air, water, or dust barrier between two surfaces. In addition to sealing, common applications include cushioning and edge protection.

Silicone Molded Parts

Silicone molded parts are formed by shaping silicone rubber in a mold using heat and pressure. Compression molding is used for larger or simpler parts, and transfer molding is used for more complex geometries. For high-volume production and fine details, injection molded is used instead. Examples of molded silicone parts include grommets, O-rings, bellows, and diaphragms.

Silicone Tubing

Silicone tubing has a round cross-section and is used to transport fluids or gases. In the food and beverage industry, silicone dairy tubing is used. Medical applications include tubing for peristaltic pumps, and electronics applications include wire sleeving and electrical insulation. In the pharmaceutical industry, silicone tubes are used for fluid transfers in sterile systems.

Choose Silicone Products from Elasto Proxy

Elasto Proxy supplies the silicone products that you need, and with lower minimum order quantities (MOQs) than if you tried to by them directly from a materials manufacturer.
