Tractors for snow removal need rubber parts. Contact us if you’re a tractor manufacturer.
January 20, 2025, is Snow Removal Day in Canada, where Elasto Proxy has branches in Quebec and Ontario. Canada is one of the world’s snowiest countries, but it’s also a leading exporter of agricultural commodities such as wheat, oats, and barley. During the winter months, many of the tractors that farmers use for spring planting or fall harvesting are used for snow removal instead. They’re outfitted with large front blades and other rugged attachments.
In the United States, farmers across the Northern Great Plains also use their tractors for heavy-duty snow removal. The same is true in Europe, from Ukraine and Poland in the East to parts of Spain and Portugal in the West. Elasto Proxy has branches in the U.S. and Europe, and our history of serving manufacturers of agricultural equipment means that we’re familiar with real-world challenges. Whether a tractor is used for plowing or planting, it needs the right rubber parts.
The Right Rubber Parts for Tractors
For the leading tractor manufacturers, choosing the right rubber parts isn’t an afterthought. Doors need to shut and seal securely, whether it’s to keep out cold and snow or keep in air conditioning during the hot summer months. Window channels also need to provide sealing and insulation, and they’re supposed to absorb vibrations that can cause glass to rattle.
Yet these are just some of the rubber parts on which tractors depend. Elasto Proxy supplies specialized solutions inside the cab, under the hood, and all along the tractor’s exterior. We can also supply you with plastic tractor parts, and we’re a trusted partner to leading OEMs who need low-to-medium production volumes delivered on-time and according to their sales forecasts.
Inside the Cab
Inside a tractor’s cabin, operators need a slip- and wear-resistant surface that can also absorb sounds from the engine bay. Diesel-powered equipment can be loud, but electric tractors run on batteries instead. In the absence of an internal combustion engine, road noise becomes more noticeable – even when a tractor is traveling across frozen field instead of on a farm road.
To solve these challenges, Elasto Proxy supplies rubber flooring that’s laminated to sound blockers or sound dampeners. Rubber floor mats with a diamond plate pattern can catch mud, snow, or water from an operator’s boots, but Elasto Proxy also offers products with a pebbled finish instead. Even the brake and pedal covers that we provide are made of molded rubber that’s built to last.
Above the operator’s head, tractors need a sound-absorbing headliner. Elasto Proxy fabricates them from open-cell acoustic foams combined with facings in various colors. These facings can provide a decorative, durable, or cleanable finish, but they’re part of a complete solution that’s easy to unbox and install. Sound absorbing panels on the walls of the cabin also support overall quality.
Bellows, shifter boots, buttons, and control covers are also some of what Elasto Proxy can supply. Operators notice these parts inside the cabin, but we also supply molded products that typically remain unseen. Underneath the cab, tractors need anti-vibration mounts to prevent oscillations that can cause excessive noise and wear or affect human health and safety.
Under the Hood and Along the Tractor’s Exterior
Under the tractor’s hood, Elasto Proxy provides even more sealing and insulation solutions. For electric tractors, we fabricate environmental seals for the battery box, including gaskets made of UL 94 flame-rated rubber. For tractors with diesel engines, we create composite structures made of thermal and acoustic materials that attach to the firewall with tape instead of fasteners.
Elasto Proxy’s under-the-hood solutions include silicone connectors such as elbows and hoses. Elbows accommodate bends, and silicone hoses can be designed for use with heating systems or to convey coolants. Products include straight, reducer, hump, formed, and wrapped hoses that meet SAE, TMC, MIL-SPEC, or OEM-specific standards.
Hoses need clamps, and the rubber ones that Elasto Proxy supplies won’t rust like some metal hardware. We can also supply rubber grommets that protect wires from abrasion, cuts, and snags. From the hood seal at the front of the tractor to the plastic tail-light protectors at the back, Elasto Proxy has the sealing and insulation solutions that tractor manufacturers need.
If you’re an OEM, how can we help you? Now is the time to secure your supply chain, especially with the risk of tariffs, taxes, export restrictions, and general geopolitical uncertainty. Elasto Proxy can supply all the rubber and plastic products that you need, and for tractor applications that run year-round and in every type of weather.
