The mobile equipment industry needs sealing and insulation solutions for tough environments. On-road vehicles such as graders, pavers, cranes, and excavators are subject to hot and cold temperatures, driving rain, and blinding snowstorms. Off-road vehicles such as tractors, combines, fellers, and skidders also face wind, water, mud, and snow. Steep grades and rocky terrain can challenge other types of agricultural and forestry equipment, too.
For over 30 years, Elasto Proxy has provided mobile equipment manufacturers with custom sealing and insulation solutions. Here’s a look at some of the rubber and plastic parts we can fabricate or source for you. Remember, too, that you can combine them with added-value services that save time on your assembly line and across the operation.
Rubber door seals protect operators and mobile equipment interiors from wind, water, and weather. By sealing out drafts, these rubber parts help keep cab temperatures comfortable. Heaters, defrosters, and air conditioners can then work more efficiently. In addition, rubber door seals prevent water from rain or melting snow from coming into contact with radios, electronic displays, or other equipment inside the vehicle. To create rubber door seals, Elasto Proxy uses water jet cutting and various splicing techniques.
Glazing Seals and Window Channels
Window rubber such as glazing seals help keep window glass firmly in place. Window channels also help secure window frames to vehicle bodies. Glazing seals don’t just seal out wind and weather, however. Like rubber door seals, they also help reduce noise and vibration while protecting vehicle interiors and promoting operator comfort. Elasto Proxy uses water jet cutting, splicing, and taping to create window rubber that’s ready to install on your assembly line or in the field.
Engine Bay Insulation and Cabin Components
Elasto Proxy’s support for the mobile equipment industry includes thermal and acoustic insulation that’s cut-to-size and, depending on your application requirements, assembled in layers to impart specific properties. If you need us to cut acoustic foam for cab interiors, our water jet cutting machine makes fine, fast, cost-effective cuts – and without tooling charges. If you need a complete solution for heat, noise, and vibration, our skilled production personnel can laminate layers of specialized materials. From engine bay insulation to headliners, we’ve got you covered.
Rubber Floor Mats
Elasto Proxy custom-fabricates rubber parts such as floor mats, interior components that come in contact with personnel whenever mobile equipment is used. By protecting flooring from mud and snow, rubber floor mats help equipment owners protect their investments. Rubber floor matting can also collect water and provide traction, which helps protect equipment operators from slip-and-fall hazards. At Elasto Proxy, we use water jet cutting to create custom floor mats that meet your precise specifications.
Rubber bumpers provide protection against low-speed collisions and low-speed impacts. They are installed on trucks, trailers, loading docks, and generator sets (gensets). Rubber truck bumpers are made of EPDM, SBR, and other elastomers that can withstand wind, weather, abrasion, and incidental contact with petroleum products. Typically, these molded rubber parts install with metal fasteners like screws and bolts. Rubber bumpers with embedded washers are also available.
Silicone connectors are molded rubber products that connect the intake pipes and tubes in diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. These engine components resist high temperatures and provide strength and flexibility. Types of silicone connectors include silicone elbows, silicone reducers, straight hoses, hump hoses, and wrapped hoses. To meet application-specific requirements, these connectors can include fabric, wire, or liner materials.
Vibration mounts or isolation mounts prevent the transmission of noise, shock, and vibration in vehicles, equipment, and machinery. These molded rubber products attach with a threaded metal fastener and are rated for a specific load capacity. The rubber in an anti-vibration mount acts as spring and absorbs energy that can damage mechanical systems. Isolation mounts come in many different sizes and shapes, including mounting pads. Metal threads are specified in U.S. and metric thread sizes.
