Elasto Proxy, a global supplier of custom sealing and insulation solutions, has named Jon Campbell to lead its Simpsonville, South Carolina (USA) team. Campbell, who became Branch Manager on November 19, 2018, oversees production, purchasing, inventory, and sales at Elasto Proxy’s office near Greenville, South Carolina – one of America’s fastest-growing cities.

Hard Work and Career Opportunities

A native of San Francisco’s Bay Area, Jon Campbell attended Junipero Sera High School, whose alumni include Super Bowl quarterback Tom Brady and homerun hitter Barry Bonds. After graduation, he traveled to Nebraska with $60 in his pocket and worked as a union carpenter. “I learned the value of hard work,” Campbell says.

Later, the California native moved to West Palm Beach, Florida and entered the hospitality industry. There, he worked for The Breakers, a five-star luxury hotel, and became the banquet supervisor. Marriage and a young family then led Jon Campbell to Greenville, South Carolina, where he worked for Enterprise Rental Car and later managed an airport.

Aramark, a company that’s known for uniform sales but also provides event services, offered another career opportunity. “I wanted a top-flight sales program,” Campbell says about his decision to join the global firm. Later, he joined CLP Resources, a skilled trades staffing company, and worked as area manager for the Carolinas.

When the Great Recession of 2008 struck, both the staffing industry and the construction business were hit hard. “I was in both,” Campbell says. He worked for a while in the renewable energies industry, but eventually returned to staffing and ran the South Carolina operations for another company.

A LinkedIn advertisement then led Jon Campbell to Elasto Proxy – and a major opportunity. “Our goal for this branch is to grow it and focus on the Southeast,” he says. “Heavy equipment production is big here and that’s a market where we’re especially strong.” Indeed, across multiple market segments, the region is booming. “I get excited because there are so many opportunities,” he says.

Team Work and Continued Growth

Elasto Proxy’s South Carolina facility is conveniently located near the I-85 corridor and just a few hours’ drive from either Atlanta or Charlotte. In addition to heavy equipment, the Southeast is home to major aerospace and defense companies. Less than a day’s drive to the north, the Research Triangle is where medical equipment manufacturers need custom sealing and insulation solutions.

Jon Campbell joins a customer-focused team in Simpsonville that consists of both new and veteran members. Sonya Benson, a customer service representative, “takes responsibility and gets right on things,” he says. Kathryn Dunne handles shipping, receiving, and production. “She’s been in manufacturing her whole career and knows the ins and outs,” Campbell explains.

Beth Branyan is responsible for purchasing and, as the longest-serving member of the branch, understands all aspects of the business. “I’m not going to let her retire,” Campbell jokes. The Simpsonville office is now seeking a salesperson join the team. “We have a consultative sales process,” Campbell says about the position. “We listen to the customer’s needs and then recommend the right solution.”

When he’s not at work, Campbell and his two children volunteer for Loaves and Fishes, a non-profit organization that reduces hunger in Greenville County by rescuing food that would otherwise be wasted and delivering it to partner agencies for distribution to those in need. Elasto Proxy welcomes Jon Campbell to our growing family and invites you to email him for custom sealing and insulation solutions.
