President for International Sales

Last week, I met with world-class buyers at STIQ Buyer/Supplier Day here in Montréal. Organized by the Sous-Traitance Industrielle Québec (STIQ), this one-day networking event connects the province’s leading integrators and OEMs with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As STIQ Executive Vice President Normand Voyer explains, “Alone, SMEs can spend years trying to organize a meeting with a buyer”. At STIQ’s Buyer/Supplier Day, however, a Québec-based SME like Elasto Proxy can connect with a multitude of large companies in a relatively short amount of time.

In an exercise that the STIQ compares to “speed dating”, I met with buyers from leading national and international businesses in the time it takes to enjoy a cup of coffee. Each 15-minute session afforded me an opportunity to showcase Elasto Proxy’s custom fabrication capabilities and to describe our commitment to customers. The sample box I brought contained profiles, sheet stock, and splices made of rubber materials such as EPDM, Viton, and neoprene. But what I most wanted to showcase was how by listening to all of our customers’ requirements, Elasto Proxy provides world-class sealing solutions.

For over 25 years, I added, our innovative company has strengthened supply chains in many different industries. So whether you need rubber and plastic products such as floor mats, profiles, trim, tubing, weatherstripping or window channels, Elasto Proxy can design and custom-fabricate the right sealing solutions for your application. Naturally, the contacts I made at STIQ’s Buyer/Supplier Day wanted to know about Elasto Proxy’s experience in their own industry. These world-class buyers represented leading businesses in aeronautics, transportation, energy, and various resources and manufacturing.

By sharing relevant success stories, I demonstrated that Elasto Proxy has the experience, capabilities, and commitment to meet their needs. Part of our strength, I added, is that with customers in so many different markets, Elasto Proxy is not narrowly focused. Our broad application knowledge and deep technical expertise also enable us to find innovative solutions to new challenges. For example, the same anti-vibration mats that have been used in vehicles can also be used with windmills. For wind energy customers, this can provide a significant cost savings.

On behalf of Elasto Proxy, I would like to thank Sous-Traitance Industrielle Québec (STIQ) for organizing last week’s event and providing SMEs like us with a valuable opportunity to grow our businesses.
