C&rsquo;est pourquoi on l&rsquo;appelle parfois <strong>relaxation de contrainte<\/strong> ou <strong>perte de<\/strong> charge. Peu importe comment on l&rsquo;appelle, la relaxation du boulon se produit avec le temps et sous une contrainte constante\u00a0 \u2013 un \u00e9tirement ou une d\u00e9formation qui se produit lorsqu&rsquo;une force externe est appliqu\u00e9e.<\/p><p>Le m\u00e9tal s&rsquo;\u00e9tire aussi. Quand un boulon est serr\u00e9, il s&rsquo;\u00e9tire l\u00e9g\u00e8rement pour exercer une force de serrage continue sur le joint. Pour sa part, le joint pousse en arri\u00e8re sur les brides qui pressent contre lui \u2013 tout comme un ressort m\u00e9tallique. Contrairement au m\u00e9tal, cependant, le caoutchouc pr\u00e9sente <strong>un comportement visco-\u00e9lastique<\/strong>. Cela signifie qu&rsquo;il est \u00e0 la fois <strong>visqueux<\/strong> (fluide) et <strong>\u00e9lastique<\/strong> (solide) lorsqu&rsquo;il est comprim\u00e9.<\/p><p>Lorsqu&rsquo;un joint en caoutchouc est comprim\u00e9, il y a une r\u00e9ponse \u00e9lastique imm\u00e9diate. Le joint se comprime instantan\u00e9ment et g\u00e9n\u00e8re une contrainte d&rsquo;\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 initiale. Avec le temps, cependant, il y a un \u00e9coulement visqueux retard\u00e9. Les cha\u00eenes mol\u00e9culaires \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur du caoutchouc se r\u00e9alignent lentement pour soulager le stress interne caus\u00e9 par la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elastoproxy.com\/how-much-compression-do-rubber-gaskets-require\/\">compression<\/a>.<\/p><p><strong>Concr\u00e8tement, qu&rsquo;est-ce que cela signifie ?<\/strong> \u00c0 mesure que le caoutchouc c\u00e8de \u00e0 une charge continue, l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur physique du joint diminue. En d&rsquo;autres mots, une relaxation du boulon s&rsquo;est produite.<\/p><h2><strong>Pourquoi la relaxation des boulons est-elle si importante ?<\/strong><\/h2><p>Les joints en caoutchouc doivent maintenir une <strong>contrainte minimale du joint<\/strong> afin de pr\u00e9server un joint \u00e9tanche contre la pression diff\u00e9rentielle, la dynamique des fluides et l&rsquo;exposition environnementale.<\/p><p>Si la quantit\u00e9 de rel\u00e2chement du boulon est trop grande, le joint fait face \u00e0 plusieurs modes de rupture distincts :<\/p><ul><li><strong>Fuites de fluide et de gaz :<\/strong> Si la pression interne du syst\u00e8me est sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la contrainte minimale du joint, le m\u00e9dium contournera le joint.<\/li><li><strong>Perte de couple de la bride :<\/strong> Les fixations perdent leur pr\u00e9charge, ce qui les rend plus susceptibles de reculer sous les vibrations.<\/li><li><strong>Co\u00fbts d&rsquo;entretien accrus :<\/strong> Les joints qui d\u00e9compressent trop n\u00e9cessitent un retorquage fr\u00e9quent. Un compos\u00e9 qui conserve 80% de sa force d&rsquo;\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 \u00e0 23 \u00b0C peut perdre 50% ou plus de sa force initiale \u00e0 100 \u00b0C.<\/li><li><strong>Basses temp\u00e9ratures :<\/strong> Les temp\u00e9ratures froides font durcir et r\u00e9tr\u00e9cir le caoutchouc. La contraction thermique d&rsquo;un joint en caoutchouc peut entra\u00eener une chute soudaine de la force de serrage.<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>G\u00e9om\u00e9trie et \u00e9paisseur du joint<\/strong><\/h3><p>La section transversale d&rsquo;un joint affecte son taux de <strong>fluage<\/strong> \u2013 c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la d\u00e9formation lente et permanente d&rsquo;un mat\u00e9riau solide au fil du temps lorsqu&rsquo;il est soumis \u00e0 une charge ou une contrainte constante.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Joints plus \u00e9pais : Ils scellent <\/strong>les brides in\u00e9gales mais subissent un frottement visqueux. Comparativement aux joints plus minces, ils b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d&rsquo;une plus grande relaxation absolue des boulons.<\/li><li><strong>Joints non confin\u00e9s c. joints confin\u00e9s : <\/strong>Les joints plats comprim\u00e9s entre des brides plates se rel\u00e2chent plus rapidement que les joints d\u2019\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 (comme les joints toriques) plac\u00e9s dans des rainures enti\u00e8rement confin\u00e9es.<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>Type de mat\u00e9riau et m\u00e9thode de durcissement <\/strong><\/h3><p>Diff\u00e9rents mat\u00e9riaux en caoutchouc fonctionnent diff\u00e9remment sous des charges de compression \u00e0 long terme. Leur comportement d\u00e9pend de la structure mol\u00e9culaire du caoutchouc, mais aussi du syst\u00e8me de durcissement utilis\u00e9. Le<strong> durcissement<\/strong> est le processus par lequel un caoutchouc obtient ses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s finales lors de la fabrication du mat\u00e9riau.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Silicone :<\/strong> R\u00e9sistance exceptionnelle \u00e0 la relaxation des boulons \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures extr\u00eames (-60\u00b0C \u00e0 +200\u00b0C). Il maintient une force d&rsquo;\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 constante bien apr\u00e8s que les autres caoutchoucs se sont rel\u00e2ch\u00e9s.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>EPDM :<\/strong> Excellente r\u00e9tention de charge dans les environnements ambiants, aquatiques et avec vapeur. L&rsquo;EPDM durci au peroxyde offre des taux de relaxation nettement plus faibles que l&rsquo;EPDM durci au soufre.<\/li><li><strong>Nitrile (NBR) :<\/strong> Bonne r\u00e9sistance au p\u00e9trole et aux carburants, mais pr\u00e9sente une relaxation des contraintes mod\u00e9r\u00e9e \u00e0 \u00e9lev\u00e9e au fil du temps \u2013 surtout \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 100 \u00b0C.<\/li><li><strong>N\u00e9opr\u00e8ne :<\/strong> Performance de relaxation mod\u00e9r\u00e9e. Consid\u00e9rez les sc\u00e9narios suivants :<\/p><h3><strong>Enclos ext\u00e9rieurs pour \u00e9quipement lourd<\/strong><\/h3><ul><li><strong>D\u00e9fi :<\/strong> De grandes charni\u00e8res et loquets de porte exercent une pression statique sur un joint p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique en EPDM expos\u00e9 aux variations saisonni\u00e8res de temp\u00e9rature (de -40\u00b0C \u00e0 +70\u00b0C) et aux vibrations.<\/li><li><strong>Solution :<\/strong> Une mousse EPDM durcie au peroxyde ou un profil\u00e9 \u00e0 double durom\u00e8tre.
